On May 1-2, 2026, The Image Initiative, Inc. celebrated the 21st Sisters Empowering Sisters Annual Conference

This year featured author, activist, and advocate Reshona Landfair. In 2026, Landfair released her memoir, Who’s Watching Shorty? Reclaiming Myself from the Shame of R. Kelly’s Abuse, and Emmy-nominated actress and performer Dara Reneé, known for her roles in Disney’s Descendants: The Rise of Red and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Special guests include the iconic Grammy nominated MC and radio personality Monie Love and Celestine Coney, Founder & CEO of Girl Gang.

Celestine Coney is the Founder & CEO of Girl Gang, a women-led dance, fitness, and empowerment community that has taken social media by storm. Girl Gang is best known for its high-energy hip hop dance and Southern Soul Line Dancing, a cultural movement rooted in the South that celebrates rhythm, joy, and togetherness.

Close to 225 girls attended from the Syracuse City School District and neighboring schools.

“Sisters Empowering Sisters Chapter 21: Where Legacy Levels Up” is this year’s theme with a focus on elevating the organization’s history of providing life changing experiences to our young women.
